At BaptistCare HopeStreet, we seek to transform the lives of people in our communities who are living with disadvantage or experiencing great personal trials. Delivering support services that are person-centred and tailored to meet local needs, our approach at HopeStreet is deeply rooted in our People First philosophy. We respect and care for each person as a valued individual, placing their health and wellbeing above all else.
BaptistCare HopeStreet offers a wide range of services designed to support individuals and families as they navigate challenging times.
We provide essential services to those experiencing homelessness, helping them find shelter and stability. Our aim is to offer more than just a temporary fix; we strive to empower individuals to rebuild their lives. We walk alongside them throughout their journey, offering continuous support and guidance every step of the way.
We help individuals and families access affordable food through sit-down meals and food hampers as well as at our low-cost grocery stores. This service ensures that no one has to go hungry, regardless of their financial situation. Our work to assist people in putting food on the table extends to providing food vouchers for those most in need, who might otherwise go hungry.
Sadly, the rising cost of living has impacted people’s ability to fund even the basic necesseties. To assist people through this we provide interest free loans, providing safe and affordable access to funds for those in financial need. Providing access to this program ensures that we can help individuals achieve financial stability and to ensure they can access the essential services and resources they need.
HopeStreet supports those affected by domestic and family violence, offering safe spaces, support, and resources to help them escape the cycle of abuse and begin the healing process. Our women's spaces provide a haven for women seeking support, connection, and resources in a safe and nurturing environment.
Our counselling and group work programs are designed to support personal growth and recovery. Some of our key programs include Brave Me, a program for children to build confidence and resilience after experiencing domestic and family violence and adversity; Living Beyond Abuse, for women who have experienced domestic and family violence, helping them to heal and move forward; Facing Up, a 20-week men's behaviour change support group for men who want to stop being abusive within their family relationships; and Pathways to Parenting, an 8-week course for parents with children in out-of-home care, or at risk of being in out-of-home care.
As a Christian, not-for-profit organisation, BaptistCare HopeStreet is here to respect and support you. We want to support you in any area you feel necessary – whether that’s physically, emotionally, or spiritually. That’s why, as part of our ongoing care, we offer a chaplaincy service to all our clients. Our chaplaincy support provides spiritual care and guidance to those in need, offering a compassionate ear and a comforting presence during challenging times.
At BaptistCare HopeStreet, we are committed to walking alongside those in our community who face significant challenges. Our wide range of services are designed to meet the diverse needs of individuals and families, helping them to overcome adversity and achieve a better quality of life.
