About the role
Women’s Services, part of our BaptistCare Community Services Division located in Penrith, is currently seeking a full time Bilingual Case Worker (Female Only) to join our team. In this role you will be required to support the Women’s Services CALD program by providing individual support to women from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in outreach, drop in, and in one on one appointment. You will be required to work with clients in Thai, Mandarin, Cantonese or Korean as well as English, and be comfortable translating between languages. Women’s services work within a trauma informed care, strengths based and harm minimisation framework - working to support women and transgender women involved in the sex industry and women experiencing complex circumstances or marginalisation such as homelessness, domestic violence , addiction etc. You will need to be passionate about creating inclusive spaces for women, and be intentional to promote opportunities for belonging, safety and greater choice. Ensuring service users are treated with respect, equality and dignity and to assist in caring for clients in a professional manner, appropriately and free of any bias is essential to the role.

The successful applicants will demonstrate knowledge, understanding and experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Have fluent language skills in Thai, Mandarin, Cantonese or Korean as well as English. Demonstrate experience in case work, preferably using strengths based, client centred, trauma informed approach whilst having the ability to work with people from marginalised backgrounds with respect, dignity and equality. Demonstrate a genuine commitment to understanding the sex industry and the broader context of sex work. You will also have relevant qualifications in social work, community welfare or a related field are desirable. Social work graduates are welcome to apply.
