At BaptistCare, our people are the heartbeat of who we are.

We want to make sure our employees and volunteers are cared for and looking after their own needs, so that they feel empowered to care for others.

In a recent pulse survey sent to staff, 64% of our staff rated their well-being between 7 and 10 - but a significant number told us that they are struggling.

In these challenging times, we expected many of our employees would be finding things difficult and we want to help.

We want our employees, volunteers and their families to thrive at home and at work, in every area of their lives; emotionally, spiritually, physically, financially, in learning and development, in their career, as well as in matters as diverse as legal or lifestyle/nutrition.

This is why we have launched Flourish, BaptistCare’s new self-care program that is for all our employees, volunteers, and their families.

Flourish offers fully confidential, free services for our employees, volunteers and their families in various areas. These include:

  • Counselling support (through external counsellors or through our own Community Services Support counsellors);
  • Chaplaincy support (through our own chaplains);
  • Lifestyle (nutrition support);
  • Learning & Development (encompassing career help);
  • Financial coaching; and
  • Legal support (up to two free sessions).
