We’re inviting people who are active in their local church to become BaptistCare Pastoral Care Volunteers, receive free training, and use the gift of pastoral care to connect with their local community.
BaptistCare Pastoral Care Volunteers are equipped with the skills to provide pastoral care and support to people in their community and their church congregation.
We understand that churches want to reach into their local communities, and people like you want to use your gifts of listening and encouraging as you share the practical love of Christ.
Volunteers complete an 8 week engaging and practical pastoral care course. There is a small cost for the workbook, but the course itself is free of charge.
You are then matched with BaptistCare clients, where you’ll spend a few hours a week visiting clients, using your new pastoral care skills to provide emotional and spiritual support to those receiving BaptistCare services living in their own homes.
Your new skills can also be used to provide pastoral support to your congregation and the people you come in contact with.
You can train to become a BaptistCare Pastoral Care Volunteer through one of three pathways:
Through our BaptistCare courses.
Through selected local Baptist Churches.
If you live at a distance, or when training is not available in your area, you may be able to access online training. Conditions apply,. Please fill in your details below to enquire.
BaptistCare has partnered with the Health Television Network (HTN) to produce our Spiritual Care Series, which is a series of eight programs hosted by Leigh Hatcher, ideal to equip people for pastoral care. Series topics include:
If you have a heart for pastoral care, we’d love you to be in contact.
