One of the biggest issues facing women when escaping domestic violence and needing to 'restart' their lives are the financial considerations. For many, it's a big factor as to why they can't leave an abusive relationship earlier. This is why BaptistCare has teamed up with Good Shepherd Microfinance and the National Australia Bank to make the No Interest Loans Scheme (NILS DV) available.
Loans can be used for a range of expenses such as buying new bedding, furniture, moving costs, vehicle repairs or a green slip as well as buying children's books, uniforms or to assist with medical, dental and new employment costs such as a computer.
Repayments vary between $30 to $50 per fortnight. There are a range of payment options to suit your circumstances including direct debit, or using Centrepay to make regular payments from your Centrelink income. Talk to us to find out more.
Contact us at one of the centres below or call 1300 275 227. We will provide further information on what you need to do.
