BaptistCare HopeStreet's Urban Internship is a year-long program run from March to December, designed for Christians wanting to explore ministry or vocation in an urban setting.

The Internship gives you hands on experience, exposure to leading practitioners, missional leaders and thinkers, weekly teaching and significantly shapes aspects of the lives of those who participate in this opportunity for personal growth and formation.
The HopeStreet Internship is run in partnership with Neighbourhood Matters, an organisation forming reflective practitioners for service in the ecology of the urban neighbourhood.
Cost: $2,500
The HopeStreet Urban Internship is COVIDSafe, and will operate in accordance with government advice and regulations.
Rev. Dr Karina Kreminski loves forming people for leadership and is a sought after speaker at churches and conferences on neighbourhood, community mission and activism. She has a doctorate in missional formation and currently teaches at Morling College in Sydney. Karina is the author of a book called Urban Spirituality: Embodying God’s Mission in the Neighbourhood.
Dr Armen Gakavian has mentored young leaders and men from disadvantaged backgrounds in Australia and Armenia. His PhD was in cultural identity and longing for place. He has researched and lectured in social change, social inclusion, genocide studies and leadership. He is currently Coordinating Editor and Associate Director of Ethos: EA Centre for Christianity and Society.
Jess Davidson is the Manager of Women’s Services and has worked in the community sector for over 16 years. In addition to previous experience in crisis management, residential programs and youth work, Jess has also facilitated multiple family group programs, spoken at national and state conferences, and contributed and spoken at NSW Parliamentary hearings. She’s an active member at her church.
The 2021 HopeStreet Urban Internship commences on Monday 1 March 2021 and concludes on Friday 17 December 2021.
