Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme

Enhancing the lives of our residents

A Volunteer Visitor befriends a resident of an aged care facility who is lonely or socially isolated and would benefit greatly from having a visitor. Research shows that up to 40% of residents have no family members or friends who visit with them.

Volunteer Visitors make fortnightly contact for a chat, walk, or activity, providing friendship and companionship with the aim of enhancing the resident’s quality of life and helping them feel more connected to their community.

When a Visitor sees their resident, it is flexible, and we aim to connect a Visitor and resident with similar interests or backgrounds and in close proximity to each other.

BaptistCare WA has been running this program for almost 30 years and training and support are provided to our Visitors every step of the way!
