The palpable sense of community is reinforced by the family-run businesses that make a
living here, and Alstonville Quality Meats is no exception. A stalwart of Main Street since 1969, this award-winning butcher is arguably the best in our region.
You’ll hear the satisfying ting of the door’s brass bell followed by a cheery hello as you push through the wooden and glass entry.
The beautifully displayed deli goods and the sheer variety of produce will doubtless leave you salivating.
“We’re passionate about delivering high quality produce from local farmers for our customers. Our ultimate vision is to make it easier for customers to eat well by access to fresh, free range and ethically farmed meat and produce,” says owner, Ashley.
Renowned for their premium free range and farm fresh meats -including the infamous Sweet Bangalow Pork - and gluten free options, Ashley Thomson and his team take out regional and state awards year in, year out. They’ve placed as finalists nationally too.
“We use real, fresh ingredients, and give our customers a wide range of produce options. We’d like to be known as that butcher shop people love to visit over and over again.”

On top of their passion for food, Ashley and his team love to have a chat, so when you get a chance, do go in and say hi. They are more than helpful and happy to source the cut you need on the spot, and add any herbs or spices you bring in to incorporate for that special recipe.
