From 1 July 2019, the Australian Government’s quality standards and accreditation framework will be replaced by the new Aged Care Quality Standards.
The new standards, which will be applied to all aged care services including residential care and home care, have been developed to ensure all providers are meeting the individual needs of the people they care for.
Baptistcare’s General Manager of Risk, Quality and Governance, Kerry Fryers, said the new standards will empower aged care consumers by putting their needs at the forefront.
“Customer experience is key when it comes to the new Aged Care Quality Standards,” she said.
“The focus will shift from policy and practice to the lived experience of our customers throughout their journey with Baptistcare.”
“We fully support this change and embrace quality as being about a customer’s experience and not just a compliance process.”
Baptistcare has been undertaking a variety of tasks to ensure a smooth transition to the new standards and looks forward to shining a spotlight on what work is being done to meet the individual needs, goals and preferences of our customers.
