Living at BaptistCare Mirrambeena Residential Care in Margaret River, Mr Foy was among the first seniors in the South West to roll up his sleeve for the Pfizer vaccine.

The WWII veteran said he didn’t think twice about having the COVID-19 jab.

“I have every confidence in the vaccine,” he said.

“If I somehow got the coronavirus and passed it on to someone else it would not be good. I believe having the vaccine is to the benefit of everyone.”

BaptistCare CEO, Russell Bricknell, said the leading aged care provider was experiencing high rates of requests for the vaccine across its 12 residential care facilities.

“It is pleasing to see so many residents wanting to receive the jabs as soon as they have become available,” he said.

“Facilitating the rollout of the vaccines on-site at our facilities is another way we can keep the people in our care safe and healthy.”
