BaptistCare Watermark Village in Wagga Wagga was recently nominated as finalists for two awards in the Golden Crow Awards for 2021. The Golden Crow Awards are prestigious local awards that are in partnership with Wagga Wagga Business Chamber.

Watermark Village was nominated as a finalist for two awards: "Excellence in Business Ethics" and "Outstanding Community Organisation".

While the Awards night was initially postponed in the hope of holding an in person event, it was finally live-streamed on August 21, with BaptistCare Watermark Village winning the “Excellence in Business Ethics” Golden Crow Award! Congratulations to the Watermark team of Sarah Young, Village Manager, Evan Willocks, Maintenance Manager and Ben Hoitink, BaptistCare chaplain for the region, as well as the whole Housing & Retirement Living team!

Averil Gilham, Operations Manager, Retirement Living said Sarah had done a wonderful job taking over the leadership of the Watermark Village, adding that Sarah and Evan along with chaplain Ben made a formidable resilient team, working together to find solutions together in the challenges of running a retirement living community in a regional area.

“Well done to all at Watermark Village, this is a well-deserved acknowledgement for all the hard work and inspirational leadership of the Village,” Averil said.

General Manager of Residential Services, Allan Waters, said it was a fabulous achievement.

“Congratulations to Sarah Young and the Watermark team. Fabulous result, and well deserved!” Allan said.

Village Manager Sarah Young said, “It was nice to celebrate the values of BaptistCare and share what we do with the community.

“Retirement living creates so many wonderful opportunities to for us to live our values. Now more than ever, it is important to celebrate the good that comes from community living and the positive impact it can have on all our stakeholders and the wider community,” added Sarah.
