Celebrating long serving employees at Gracewood Residential Care
Baptistcare Gracewood Residential Care at Salter Point recently acknowledged long term employees who have been with the organisation for 25 years, 20 years, 15 years and 10 years.

Baptistcare Gracewood Residential Care at Salter Point recently acknowledged long term employees with a function to celebrate those who have been with the organisation for 25 years, 20 years, 15 years and 10 years.
Russell Bricknell, Baptistcare CEO, says long serving employees are a great asset to the organisation and he believes their dedication is reflected in the way they provide quality care for West Australian seniors.
“Employees who are in the job for the long term create many benefits in aged care because they’re able to provide consistent support and develop relationships of trust with older residents who may sometimes find changes to their environment or daily routines challenging,” he said.
Housekeeping Partner Nadia Downing who has completed 20 years of service at Baptistcare Gracewood, enjoys engaging with the residents. While some of her shift takes place in the laundry, she also takes meals to residents, a task that gives her the opportunity to talk to and interact with them, something which she loves.
Anna Buckingham, an Enrolled Nurse who has been at Baptistcare Gracewood for 25 years, said her role enjoys a family atmosphere and a lot of social interaction.
Smita Koirala, Baptistcare Gracewood’s Residential Care Manager, believes that long serving staff choose to stay because they love their jobs and workplace.
“When a staff member feels valued and appreciated, the job becomes so much more enjoyable and this positive attitude has a direct effect on our residents,” she said.
There are more than 105 employees across Baptistcare who have been with the organisation for between 10 and 19 years, another 20 with between 19 and 29 years of work service, as well as 16 employees over the age of 70.
Baptistcare is proud of our longest serving employees and to recognise them for the outstanding work they do and their valuable contribution to the care and happiness of seniors at our residential care facilities and in the community.
