Recently a special BaptistCare at home client of Murrumbidgee, Mrs Olga Scott, became a centenarian. Happy 100th Birthday Olga!

Born in 1920, Olga has spent the last 100 years serving her family - she has four children, Ray, Graham, Carol and Vincent - and her community.

Having lived in Canberra for much of her life, in 1998 Olga was presented with the ACT's "Woman of the Year" Award for her charity work, which was presented by Kate Carnell, the Chief Minister for the ACT from 1995-2000.

Olga has devoted so much of her life to charity work, working with the Australian Church Women's Association, the Country Women’s Association, the Catholic Women’s League, the Carmelite Auxiliary, the Marymead Auxiliary, Probus, the National Council of Women, the ACT Council of Churches and Quota.

Olga later moved to West Wyalong where she is still involved with many of the same organisations and charities, especially the local West Wyalong CWA, PROBUS and Royal Far West.

A highlight of Olga's week is meeting up with her friends to have coffee at her favourite French/Vietnamese local bakery every Wednesday. Olga enjoys playing card games like Euchre and 500, and spending time with her four children, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren!

Olga is a remarkable lady. She had open heart surgery at the age of 85, and the surgeon only gave her a ten year guarantee. As Olga likes to say, she sure showed him!

Olga's family tells us she appreciates everything the BaptistCare staff members do for her. Olga says, "They are like family".

Happy Birthday Olga, we are honoured to serve such a remarkable person.
