As the final stage of the completion of The Gracewood Community draws near, the project is really starting to take shape. The scaffold to the façade has now been stripped and the focus has shifted to the completing the internal finishes.

The 88 high end apartments are over three buildings. The five levels are going up concurrently which has the finishing trades and project team in full swing. The landscaping is gathering speed now too, with all the flowers being planted over the next few weeks, and our hard landscaping will be completed, that aims to tie all three buildings together.

"The Gracewood Community is our newest retirement living community and I must admit it is not only modern apartments with all you could want to support a great lifestyle, but also has a great sense of community amongst the residents, a level of vitality that you don’t always see in a community," said Mike Furner, General Manager for BaptistCare Housing & Retirement Living.

"It is a great pleasure to witness the building of the exciting stage three development of The Gracewood Community; the Girralong, Timbarra and Wollemi apartments. These additional 88 apartments in stage three, due for delivery in May 2020, will greatly complement the existing community of 153 apartments.

"It’s great to see residents and their families strolling through the Cumberland woodland, enjoying a dip with the grandchildren in the heated pool, having a dig in the communal veggie garden and sharing a coffee in the café.

"All our Retirement Living Communities offer “Adaptive Living”. By that I mean making the right choice now by choosing a community that’s flexible enough to meet the needs of the future, through access to our BaptistCare home or residential care services. It’s a lifestyle that fosters an ongoing sense of security and well-being." he said.

Thank you to our building partners and all our staff involved in working on and accommodating this major project - we appreciate all the work you put in to assist in achieving these milestones. We thank our wonderful existing village residents for their patience and support as the construction progresses.

The next step in the completion of this project involves an information session for prospective residents in the coming days, and further updates on the project will be made available soon.
