In November 2019 our chaplaincy team collected gifts and food items from across BaptistCare sites to give directly to BaptistCare HopeStreet clients and Community Housing tenants.
Chaplains coordinated the collection of new items from suggestions made by our HopeStreet staff.
Staff, residents and volunteers from across our organisation generously donated items including toiletries, clothing, gift cards, chocolate, perfume and groceries.
Chaplain, Sue Dawson, saw the delight that residents at BaptistCare Aminya Village (Baulkham Hills), as well as staff, found in giving.
“Our village residents and staff love giving. They got great joy from seeing so many gifts piling up in my office!” she said.
Chaplains also collected gifts for the children living in our Domestic Violence Supported Accommodation, as well as children whose parents visit BaptistCare HopeStreet in Dubbo. Via this HopeStreet location, a special gift of books was also presented to Tottenham Central School, in the drought-stricken Central West region, following a book drive by our Support Services staff.
The combined effort from across BaptistCare by staff, volunteers and customers alike saw BaptistCare’s promise, Because we care, truly shine.
