We'll be using this page to communicate with our Carlingford neighbours about our proposed Seniors Living Village at BaptistCare's Carlingford birthplace.

BaptistCare has been supporting seniors and families facing disadvantage for over 80 years. The Carlingford site holds significant importance to us as it was the birthplace of BaptistCare in 1944. We remain committed to continuing our work from this site to transform lives and create strong, caring communities for many years to come.
In 2024, BaptistCare received Development Approval for a Seniors Living Village at this site (264-268 Pennant Hills Road). This Village will be located to the south of the site, behind Gimbawali Place, a Community Housing site that opened in 2023.
Please check back regularly, as we will update this webpage as more details become available.
The Seniors Living Village will include:
The Seniors Living Village will offer the best in lifestyle and care for its residents. The Village will be designed to support residents in independent living to make the most of their golden years and to provide industry-leading care for our residential aged care residents.
Residents will have access to a range of services and facilities on-site, including:
Our independent living units for retirees will be spacious, light, and comfortable. The units will be built around a beautiful, central courtyard, offering residents easy access to the services and facilities they need, as well as plenty of spaces and places to gather with families and friends.
Our residential aged care homes will be designed to meet the latest standards and research in aged care. The accommodation will be divided into small households of 16 bedrooms, a central kitchen, and living and dining rooms. These smaller householders will offer a comfortable, peaceful, home-like environment for our residents.
Providing independent living and residential aged care services at the one site means that independent living residents can remain in their own homes for as long as possible while accessing in-house care services they may need.
BaptistCare is planning for a Village that the whole community can visit and enjoy.
We know our local area would benefit from more green and open spaces for residents to enjoy. That’s why BaptistCare is excited to share the green and open space being developed at our site with the local community. We are creating a large, accessible, peaceful and leafy park at the southern end of the site, which will be open for public use.
This park will feature beautiful, natural landscaping with areas for the community to gather and relax. It will include accessible footpaths, allowing easy movement throughout the park. Situated next to our residential aged care home, the park will offer a serene place for passive enjoyment.
The community will be able to access a range of services such as a café and outdoor seating, addressing Martins Lane.
BaptistCare will have a respite centre at our Carlingford site to support local families who are caring for loved ones at their home to take some much needed ‘me-time’.
We would love to hear your thoughts on how we can make our Seniors Living Village a wonderful place for both our residents and the local community. Please get in touch with us.
