Many people walk into BaptistCare HopeStreet Windale looking for a low-cost meal or groceries, however, they often leave with something just as important – feeling valued, seen and heard – thanks to the work of chaplains like Joy.
Joy is committed to creating space for people to be themselves, talk about their story, feel valued, and understood.
She explains: “It’s an honour for me to have them share their life story, sharing is powerful. How healing it can be to have someone sit and listen.”
Our clients appreciate Joy and the time she spends with them. One gentleman told her, “When I spend time sitting and talking with you Joy, I feel valued. Thank you.”
Our BaptistCare HopeStreet team are committed to caring for the whole person, not just their physical needs, and our chaplains, caseworkers, counsellors and HopeStreet staff work together to help people move forward, find healing, and make healthy choices.
