Better Homes & Gardens’ gardening guru, Jason Hodges, joined residents of The Gracewood Retirement Village in Kellyville on Thursday 12 April 2018 to celebrate its fifth birthday, cutting the birthday cake and spending time in the community garden with residents and guests.
While checking in on the award-winning veggie garden he designed and planted a year after The Gracewood Retirement Village opened, Jason also shared his best gardening tips and tricks with guests.
Guests were given the chance to chat with one of Australia’s best loved gardening and landscaping experts, while learning to create hanging veggie and herb baskets, solve pest problems and brush up on their gardening skills.
“It’s always a great pleasure being at The Gracewood Community to chat about gardening and to spend time with the residents here. I sometimes learn a thing or two from them as well,” said Jason.
“I especially love the way this Village and the community here have embraced their community garden, growing herbs and vegetables, and enjoying being outside together. It’s good for the soul, for wellbeing, and of course for our environment,” he said.
Guests were also given the opportunity to find out more about the village community ahead of the third and final stage of luxury independent living apartments being released at The Gracewood Retirement Village in coming months.
The Gracewood Village Manager is excited about the final milestone at The Gracewood, which now includes retirement living, home care, a social club and residential aged care all in one location.
“The final stage of our Village will include 88 new apartments, and some exciting new outdoor amenities which will be revealed later this year. Today was a wonderful opportunity to share just how great the community here is, and why moving to The Gracewood Village is an adventure and relaxing, all at once!” she said.
