At BaptistCare HopeStreet, we seek to transform the lives of people in our communities who are living with disadvantage or experiencing great personal trials.
Delivering support services that are person-centred and tailored to meet local needs, our approach at HopeStreet is deeply rooted in our People First philosophy. We respect and care for each person as a valued individual, placing their health and wellbeing above all else.
Our wide range of services supports individuals and families to navigate challenging times, such as homelessness, accessing affordable food, domestic violence, long-term unemployment, relationship breakdown, mental health issues, or addiction. We also walk alongside people who are caught in a cycle of poverty and debt, often with diminished opportunities to break free and live well.
How We Help
Ryan grew up in an environment where crime and addiction were almost inescapable. HopeStreet offered Ryan a lifeline.
Ryan’s journey was filled with obstacles. After losing his father, his mother kicked him out, leaving him to fend for himself at a very young age.
At just 12 years old, Ryan found himself caught in a cycle of drugs and theft, a harsh reality that many in our neighbourhoods face.
Despite these overwhelming challenges, there is hope. HopeStreet was different. They provided not just food and shelter, but also the emotional support and counselling he needed to heal.
“HopeStreet has helped me so much,” Ryan says with gratitude.
He has found friends and a sense of community at HopeStreet, people who believe in him and support his journey.
“HopeStreet put belief in me where I never had belief before. They told me, ‘You can do this, you can change your life’.”
