The kindy kids at West Byford Primary School have sent a heart-warming message to the 70 local seniors living at Baptistcare Graceford Residential Aged Care.

The children each contributed a hand-painted rainbow poster with the powerful message “we can’t control what is happening, but we can keep choosing to smile”.

Rainbows which are created by reflection and refraction of light in water drops in the atmosphere are a symbol of inspiration, hope and harmony.

They are being used across the globe to spread colour, joy and a sense of togetherness as people unite to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

The unique artwork was not only a wonderful surprise for residents of Baptistcare Graceford who are currently unable to receive visitors due to health precautions, but a reminder that their bond with the Serpentine Jarrahdale community cannot be broken.
