Chain Reaction Challenge

Support our BaptistCare HopeStreet team as they take on the 2024 Chain Reaction Foundation Challenge

How would you feel if you had no place to call home as a child?

That’s the reality for more than 25,000 children in Australia who are homeless.

At BaptistCare HopeStreet, we support children who face disadvantage and distress in some of the most vulnerable communities in Australia.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: To transform lives and build a safer future for children.

The Chain Reaction Challenge Foundation is a partner that supports charities like HopeStreet. Funds from the 2024 Chain Reaction Challenge will help us provide safe and affordable housing for kids and their mothers, our Breakfast Club, counselling programs, school packs, and care packages for families starting over.

Cycling toward a better future for our children

Over the past three years through our Chain Reaction Foundation, you have helped us provide safe and affordable housing for kids and their mothers, put food on the table at our Breakfast Club, and helped fund counselling programs, school packs, and care packages for families starting over.

Next month our BaptistCare HopeStreet cycling team is once again gearing up to cycle the Great Ocean Road and Dandenong Ranges in Victoria to raise further funds for our HopeStreet children’s services.

First time rider, Samantha Hall, said the 7-day gruelling journey makes a practical difference to families and children experiencing homelessness in Australia.

“With so much going on in the world, it’s easy to forget that there are mums and kids within our local communities that need our help here too,” she said.

“The ride is ‘hard’ but that doesn’t equate to the emotional, mental and physical hardship that families go through when they are fleeing violence, conflict or are in need of the basics – a stable and safe roof over their heads.”

Samantha said the services Hope Street provide are life-changing because they allow healing and support at the toughest of times. “You can see the impact that is created at HopeStreet.”
