Elaine Wallace was one of just a few BaptistCare at home clients whose photograph submissions were selected to appear in our inaugural annual calendar for 2023, which was circulated last year amongst BaptistCare at home clients and their families.

Elaine’s beautiful shot of blooming waratahs in Frenchs Forest, Sydney, takes centre stage in the publication, and our home care team visited the 92-year-old in her home recently to offer our personal thanks and present her with an official certificate of appreciation. Thrilled, Elaine told us, ‘I’m 92, and have never done anything like this before!’

Ray Rowney, who receives BaptistCare at home services where he lives in Orange, NSW, was also delighted to have his photograph included in the calendar, a stunning panorama of the Cowra district’s vibrant yellow fields. Our Care Facilitators, Oma and Donna, visited the 88-year old in his home to give our personal thanks and present him with his own certificate of appreciation.

Alongside photographs submitted by BaptistCare clients and their families, the calendar also features a collection of inspiring shots taken by BaptistCare community home carers and office staff. The result is a very special collaborative project, representative of the close partnership between BaptistCare staff, clients, and their families in delivering loving, reliable home care.

Each month’s page includes advice and encouragements on how to ‘live well,’ all of them corresponding to BaptistCare’s three Well-Living goals: Be Well, Think Well, and Connect Well. Some of the tips include advice on staying fit and active in older age, the importance of a healthy diet, and information on how to access extra services through our Care Facilitators, such as lawn mowing, household repairs, and help getting to and from regular health appointments.

The calendar promotes the BaptistCare at home Well-Living Framework.

The project’s popularity bodes well for the coming months and years where we hope that many a BaptistCare calendar will be hung proudly in our clients’ homes, as a practical and caring reminder of our exceptional home care services.

Thank you to Elaine, Ray, and all the other generous members of our community who submitted photographs for the inaugural BaptistCare calendar of 2023!
