Supported accommodation for women and children who have experienced violence

Our medium term housing provides a secure and supportive environment where women and their children can overcome trauma and begin to rebuild their life.

In a secure location, BaptistCare’s Macarthur housing includes security monitoring and cameras and provides women and children with everything they need to feel safe.

Our professional case workers work in partnership with each woman, offering individual counselling as well as a range of ongoing educational, financial and parenting programs tailored to meet their needs.

We also help our clients to access schools and childcare, government agencies and legal support, particularly for those women from culturally and linguistically diverse, and Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander backgrounds.

Each school-aged child is invited to attend our Break Free program, run by our specialist children’s counsellor, who supports them as they overcome the distress, sense of loss, and lingering grief experienced as a result of witnessing or being victim to domestic and family violence. The program also gives children assistance with tutoring and education.

Together we work with women towards transitioning to more permanent housing, in social housing, community housing or the private rental market.

If you are in an urgent domestic violence situation and requiring emergency support, please dial 000, DV Line on 1800 656 463, Link2Home on 1800 152 152 or 1800 RESPECT.
