The Support at Home (SaH) program begins on 1 November. It will replace the Home Care Packages (HCP) Program and Short-Term Restorative Care (STRC) Program. Support at Home is part of the new Aged Care Act, which puts the rights of older people first.
Support at Home (SaH) provides government funding for both ongoing and short term support to help you live in your home for longer.
BaptistCare can help you to understand your eligibility, including the mix of services available to meet your assessed needs and budget.
There are three main categories for ongoing care under Support at Home
The new Support at Home program offers a clear list of services provided
Support at Home offers three short term pathways:
Government subsidies for home care are now calculated on a quarterly basis, rather than on a daily basis.
Support at Home also has 8 new funding classifications for ongoing services and 4 classifications for people transitioning from the Home Care Package program.
A person's classification and budget will be determined based on their needs.

Here are some answers to questions we get asked regularly. Can’t find what you need? You can always get in touch with us.
Yes - You can request for your Care Manager to temporarily suspend your services without putting your funding on hold. Therefore, your funding will still accrue. However, there is now a limit on the unspent funds that you can carry over to the next quarter. This is $1000 or 10%, whatever is greater.
Please note that your funded will be set to zero and reallocated after four consecutive quarters (one year) has passed since the last service was delivered to you.
If your care needs change, you will need a formal reassessment for additional funding for care and services.
The Single Assessment Services (SAS) will conduct a new assessment of your care needs and may approve you for a new Support at Home classification level.
All clients will retain their unspent Home Care Package funds to use for approved care, services, equipment and home modifications if needed. You will not lose your unspent funds under Support at Home.
You are now able to nominate and register one or more people of your choice to assist you in decision-making, if you want or need support. Supporters will be able to request, access or receive information.
