Our Community Housing Explained

Affordable Housing supports people on low to moderate incomes who are finding it hard to keep up with the rise in private rental costs. Our rents are set below the local market rate, making it easier to find a stable, secure place to call home.

Social Housing supports people on very low incomes and eligibility criteria set by the NSW Department of Community and Justice Housing (DCJ). Applications are made directly through DCJ. To learn more about the process and what’s involved, visit our How to Apply page.

You are eligible for our Seniors' properties if you are:

• In a single-person household and over 55 years old (or, 45 years old if you identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander).
• In a two-person household, where you and your fellow household member are both over 55 years old (or, 45 years old if either of you identify as  Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander).
   

Our housing gives you access to Home Care and a wide range of our other support services, including chaplaincy and No Interest Loans. You’re also invited to take part in an active social calendar of community activities and events, designed to help you feel connected and to thrive in your new home.

If you're a single parents with at least one child, you are eligible for our single parent properties. We prioritise women and children who are rebuilding their lives after being affected by domestic and family violence.

With BaptistCare, you'll have access to job training, counselling and  a wide range of other community services tailored to meet your family’s needs. Our team will work alongside you to build your sense of stability, wellbeing, and confidence – supporting your pathway towards long-term housing in the private rental market.
