While the two organisations operate as individual entities, we work together at a national level as member organisations of Baptist Care Australia (BCA). As part of BCA, we work to bring equality and opportunity to Australian communities, advocating nationally on social issues such as aged care, homelessness, and domestic violence.
Both organisations believe that a merger would be a logical fit, given both providers' values-driven approach to person-directed care and service delivery. Our organisations have over 125 years of combined experience delivering exceptional care and services that have a real and meaningful impact on people's lives.
The merger will strategically allow two like-minded, well-governed organisations to join forces, providing the scale and capacity to operate sustainably in an increasingly challenging market undergoing rapid change. We will be stronger as one.
Pending completion of the formal contract process, both organisations will continue working closely together to transition into one organisation over the coming months.
We understand there will be interest in the timing of this decision, and we will keep you updated as information becomes available.
Charles Moore, currently the CEO of BaptistCare NSW & ACT, will lead the newly merged organisation as Chief Executive Officer.
Western Australia’s Amanda Vivian will be appointed to the new role of Executive Director Western Australia to lead the operations in WA. Amanda will assume this new position when the merger is complete.
Amanda will also join the executive leadership team of the newly merged organisation, and will continue to lead Aurum Catering and Management Services (part of WA), which will become part of the merged organisation.
Over the coming months as we transition into one organisation, several items will be worked through by teams from both WA and NSW & ACT.
Our two organisations are already similar in so many ways, including our name, and we look forward to sharing updates about this once they are available.
The focus on delivering quality care and services for residents, clients and customers of both organisations will remain unchanged.
For residential aged care residents, your meals, room and care team will all remain the same.
We will ensure you are kept up to date as the two organisations work through the transition process.
There will no changes to frontline employees as a result of the merger. The number one priority for both organisations is keeping great people.
We need all of the wonderful employees we have, and more, to provide quality care across WA and NSW and ACT.
