Stronger Carers Peer Support Program

Are you caring for someone at home with dementia?

The Stronger Carers Peer Support program provides support to people who care for someone living at home with dementia. This valuable support consists of 8 visits – 2 from the program facilitator and 6 from a volunteer coach. It is free of charge and you do not have to be a BaptistCare client.

The Stronger Carers Peer Support program provides coaching around the practical elements of caring as well as dealing with the emotional impact. The volunteer coaches have been carers themselves, so they truly understand what it is you’re going through.

By participating in this program you will:

  • Learn skills to help you care
  • Feel supported and listened to
  • Gain access to services and resources that will make your life easier

About the Program Facilitator - Kerry Martin

th KerryMartin StrongerCarers OurCareApproach OurServices2

Kerry has worked with BaptistCare since 2012. She has a keen interest in dementia and the impact it has not only on the person with the disease, but also carers and families. Kerry recruits, trains and supports the volunteer coaches to deliver the program to carers.

Kerry strongly believes that people with dementia and their carers should be treated with respect and understanding to ensure they both enjoy a good quality of life.
