BaptistCare is set to expand its services on the Mid North Coast of NSW by welcoming Sunrise Supported Living Tuncurry and its associated home care service, Sunrise Home Care.
This transition, expected to be completed in October 2025, builds on BaptistCare’s services in the region, enhancing aged care and home care services for the Mid North Coast community.
The agreement includes the transfer of operations of Sunrise Supported Living Tuncurry, which comprises 106 independent living units, and Sunrise Home Care, which delivers home care services to 66 village residents and an additional 190 clients across the wider Mid North Coast region.
Approximately 90 Sunrise employees will be offered employment with BaptistCare, ensuring continuity of care and trusted relationships for residents and clients alike.
This acquisition allows BaptistCare to extend its commitment to personalised, values-driven care to even more people, building on its presence in the region through its Mid North Coast BaptistCare at home team, social club Blue Gum Cottage in Taree, and BaptistCare Kularoo, a residential aged care home in Forster.
Paul Greenup, Director of Sunrise, emphasised the decision was made with great care, keeping residents, clients, and staff at the heart of the process.
"We undertook a thorough assessment to ensure any future operator of Sunrise shared our values and commitment to care. BaptistCare’s long-standing reputation and strong local presence gave us great confidence. Their experience and values make them an ideal fit to carry Sunrise’s legacy forward," he said.
Charles Moore, CEO of BaptistCare, expressed excitement about the transition.
"We’re delighted to welcome Sunrise residents, clients, and employees into the BaptistCare family. Sunrise has built a strong and trusted presence in the Mid North Coast community, and we’re proud to continue that legacy under the Sunrise name, now supported by the scale and stability of BaptistCare," he said.
