People come to counselling for many different reasons. Our counsellors can provide support with a range of experiences and challenges, including:
- anxiety, stress and emotional wellbeing
- grief, loss and significant life changes
- trauma and difficult life experiences
- family and relationship challenges
- bullying and social difficulties
- self-esteem and confidence
- managing emotions and developing coping strategies
- challenges at school, home or within the community
- social isolation and difficulties feeling connected
- other circumstances affecting wellbeing and everyday life.
Children and young people can experience challenges in ways that are different from adults and may not always have the words to explain how they are feeling.
Our counsellors create a safe, age-appropriate and supportive environment where children and young people can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences.
We work alongside each young person at their own pace, helping them develop emotional awareness, coping strategies, resilience and confidence while recognising their individual strengths and circumstances.
Where appropriate, we also work collaboratively with parents, carers and other important people in a young person’s support network.
Our counselling is grounded in respect, compassion and the belief that people are the experts in their own lives.
Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, our counsellors work alongside each person to understand what matters to them and identify the support that may be most helpful.
Our practice is trauma-informed and person-centred, with a focus on creating an environment where people feel safe, respected and heard.
