BaptistCare has been selected by Homes NSW as a partner in the Australian Government’s Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) Round 2, enabling the delivery of hundreds of new social and affordable homes in NSW.
In partnership with the Australian and NSW Governments, BaptistCare will begin planning to deliver two developments in the Sydney suburbs of Caringbah and Belmore.
Together, these developments will provide 309 homes, including 191 social housing homes and 118 affordable housing homes, helping meet the growing need for housing in these communities.
Safe, stable housing is essential to wellbeing, providing the foundation people need to stay connected to work, family and community.
Charles Moore, Chief Executive Officer, said the announcement reflects the important role community housing providers play in addressing Australia’s housing challenges.
“Every day we see the difference that safe and affordable housing can make. Housing is foundational to people’s wellbeing, stability and connection. This investment enables us to deliver practical, long-term solutions for people who need them most.”
Robyn Evans, Chief Operating Officer, Community and Housing, said the developments respond directly to what is being seen across communities.
“We are seeing more people struggling to access secure housing, particularly those on low to moderate incomes,” she said.
“These homes will support a diverse mix of people, including single parents, seniors and essential workers, helping them remain connected to their work, education, support networks and communities.”
BaptistCare will provide tenancy and property management services, with tenants also able to access appropriate support through its broader services. Once complete, BaptistCare will have 36 community housing locations and more than 1,300 dwellings providing safe, stable housing for more than 2,000 people across our communities.
Planning is now underway, with work continuing alongside Homes NSW to finalise designs, approvals and funding through to early 2027. Construction is expected to follow, with completion targeted for mid 2029.
