At BaptistCare HopeStreet, we seek to transform the lives of people in our communities who are living with disadvantage or experiencing great personal trials.
Delivering support services that are person-centred and tailored to meet local needs, our approach at HopeStreet is deeply rooted in our People First philosophy. We respect and care for each person as a valued individual, placing their health and wellbeing above all else.
Our wide range of services supports individuals and families to navigate challenging times, such as homelessness, accessing affordable food, domestic violence, long-term unemployment, relationship breakdown, mental health issues, or addiction. We also walk alongside people who are caught in a cycle of poverty and debt, often with diminished opportunities to break free and live well.

Instead of passing his retirement years playing with grandchildren… Steve spent his days fighting for his life.
In the heart of our community, there are stories of resilience that often go unheard. Stories like that of Steve, a 70-year-old who faced the harsh reality of homelessness.
His tale is a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the difference a single act of kindness can make.
Steve's journey through homelessness was a result of a series of unfortunate events, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. After falling into a coma and spending weeks in intensive care, he awoke to find his affordable housing gone, his belongings discarded.
The streets became his home, a place where even his age didn't shield him from the dangers that lurk in the shadows.
Yet, it was the simple acts of love from strangers that kept him going.
"HopeStreet supplied sleeping bags when I needed them. They provided food and clothing. It made it a hell of a lot easier," Steve expresses with gratitude.
