Telehealth program

Available to eligible home care clients

What is telehealth?

Telehealth (also called virtual care) is a way for you to meet with your health professional online via a computer or smart device without being in the same room. 
 
Telehealth is available to eligible home care clients and offers many benefits which can make it easier for you to access the professional health advice you require.
 
While virtual, Telehealth consultations are confidential and won’t be recorded. Verbal consent is required at the beginning of the appointment prior to your consultation proceeding.

Please Note:

  • You can decide if a family member or carer joins you
  • If you feel uncomfortable, you can ask to end the consultation
  • Ask any questions you have
  • A follow-up appointment will be scheduled if needed.

 

Equipment you’ll need:

  • Reliable internet connection
  • An email address
  • A device with a camera, microphone, and speakers (like an Apple iPad/iPhone, Android smartphone, laptop or tablet).

 

If you face technical issues or get disconnected, your healthcare professional will try to reconnect. If that doesn’t work, they will call you on the provided phone number.
 
If you can’t make your appointment, please call your health professional to reschedule.

On the day of your appointment:

  • Choose a quiet, distraction-free space
  • Pick a well-lit area; avoid sitting with your back to a window
  • Connect a few minutes early to start on time.
